name is Joe McGuire, I am 49 years old and I live in Glasgow, Scotland. I am a Person Centred Counsellor and hold a postgraduate
Diploma in counselling from Strathclyde
University in Glasgow.
I also hold the postgraduate certificate in counselling skills from the same university. As well as my private practice I teach counselling skills courses in a college of further education and work as a telephone counsellor for an EAP provider (employee assistance program).
As an accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy I am bound by its ethical framework for good practice in counselling and psychotherapy and subject to the professional conduct procedures therein. I have regular supervision of my work in line with BACP guidelines.
I work in a caring and non-judgemental way, providing you, the client with a confidential and reasonably priced professional service. I provide various personal counselling services, stress management trainingand disability awareness training.
Charges for my counselling services are maintained at a fair level of £35 per session for individual work and £45 per session for couples. It is important that you feel comfortable in counselling and to that end an initial assessment session can be arranged. I charge £20 for this assessment, it will give us a chance to meet, discuss your difficulty, and for you to get a sense of who I am, what I can offer, and it is also an opportunity for you to ask any questions before deciding if you would like to work with me. (Appointments made and not kept or cancelled with less than 24 hours notice will be charged at the full rate).
